Meet Our Team
Karen Lang Smith
Board Certified Specialist/Owner Since 1998
Karen started in the hearing industry in 1995 when she was pursued by the previous owner, who originally established Bay Area Hearing in 1955. Karen purchased the company in 1998 and has since expanded her career into the state of Georgia, where she was born and raised and attended Valdosta State college in the late 1980s. After owning several locations over the past 14 years, Karen has decided to focus on her original office at 6533 Central Avenue, St Pete, FL where her career started. She also has an office in the small town of Hawkinsville, Georgia. She has been board certified for over 20 plus years and enjoys all aspects of the hearing industry. She looks forward to helping those in need of a better quality of life through better hearing. When not at the office, Karen enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband on their farm in Georgia.
Melissa Lybarger
Patient Care Coordinator - Hearing Aid Specialist
Melissa has been a valued asset to Bay Area Hearing Care for over 13 plus years. Starting her career as the Head Patient Care Coordinator, then progressing to the Office Manager! And now we are proud to offer her as one of our very own Licensed Hearing Care Providers. Over the years Melissa has established so many relationship with new and existing customers, that we know she will excel in this career that she is so passionate about. When not at the office, she really enjoys her time with her three beautiful daughters, husband, and three golden retrievers.
